When Trees Speak: A Guide to Painted Wooden Decorations
When Trees Speak: A Guide to Painted Wooden Decorations
It was once romantic to declare your love by carving messages into a tree. Today you can use a piece of wood instead, because who has a tree in their living room? Beautiful messages, loving greetings, fun sketches, name tags, or to-do lists can be made in a completely different way. A wooden surface painted with Kreul Matt acrylic paint and written on with chalk can be wiped clean and rewritten, so you can change the colors or messages to suit your home or your mood. These natural decorations add a lovely touch to your interior and also make a thoughtful gift for someone close to you.
How to Paint a Wooden Chalkboard Decoration
- Choose your favorite color from the range of Kreul acrylic paints (we recommend trendy chalk paints with a velvety-smooth finish). Paint the wood (dilute it with as little water as possible). Then let the paint dry.
To seal it, we’ll use a special clear chalkboard varnish. Apply even, thin coats using a synthetic brush. If the coat is too thick, the varnish will dry white.
- Clean the brush with water after use.
- The panel surface takes about 1 hour to dry. Leave the finished piece to dry for 24 hours, then you can write on it with chalk.
- My recommendation: Change the motifs and colors on the wood with each season and let your home shine!
Wishing you lots of joy in your creative projects, Sabina :)
